Kathryn “Katie” Anderson

Kathryn “Katie” Anderson began her legal career in 1992 in the Legal Studies program at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Upon graduation, she worked as a paralegal for a private firm that exclusively represented insurance companies in personal injury disputes. She also worked in the legal department for a major insurance company until she decided to attend law school at Barry University School of Law. During law school, Katie received the Gold Writing Award; served as Secretary of the Women Lawyers Association; was President of the Trial Team and led an ecumenical prayer ministry on campus. She also earned the distinction of being an editor on Law Review, an honor reserved for the top twenty percent of her class. For the first seven years after graduation, Katie worked exclusively for insurance companies and became well versed on the inner workings of insurance companies, successfully defending at-fault drivers at both the trial and appellate level.

As a former insurance defense attorney, Katie has extensive experience trying a wide range of cases. She recently worked as a personal injury attorney at a private firm in South Florida for three and a half years before relocating back to the Orlando area in 2015. Katie exclusively represents individuals and families who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Her experience in working with insurance companies enables her to predict the defenses that will be presented and to offer the proper legal strategy to overcome those defenses.

In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, Katie is a member of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She has also received extensive training at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in Louisville, Colorado.

On a personal note, Katie has been married to her husband, Kevin, for the past twenty-seven years and together they have two adult daughters. They are also proud grandparents to a beautiful little girl. Katie has been very active in her local community, serving on the board of the Soccer Booster Club at her daughters’ high school and has served as a Team Manager for her children’s soccer teams. Both she and her husband are also very active volunteers in their local church.
